A spicy, cheesy buffalo chicken dip with a spooky spiderweb pattern, perfect for Halloween parties or game day gatherings. Ready in under 30 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce (for spiderweb pattern)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Tortilla chips, for serving
  • Celery sticks, for serving
  • Carrot sticks, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or small baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add 1/2 cup buffalo sauce and ranch dressing; mix until combined and smooth.
  4. Fold in shredded chicken, 1 cup cheddar cheese, and blue cheese (if using).
  5. Spread mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup buffalo sauce with melted butter. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off.
  8. Pipe concentric circles of the sauce mixture on top of the dip, starting from the center. Use a toothpick or knife tip to drag lines from the center outward, creating a spiderweb pattern.
  9. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with tortilla chips, celery, and carrot sticks.

Notes

Cream cheese must be softened to avoid lumps. For a vegetarian version, swap chicken for black beans or jackfruit. For extra spice, add cayenne pepper or use hot buffalo sauce. The dip can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance (without spiderweb pattern) and refrigerated; add 5-7 minutes to baking time.
