Best Christmas Tree Cake Dip with 4 Easy Dippers

A creamy, festive dessert dip that tastes exactly like a Christmas tree cake but in scoopable form. Perfect for holiday parties, this quick and easy no-bake recipe comes together in under 15 minutes and is always the first thing to disappear.

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2–3 drops green food coloring
  • 4 Christmas tree cakes, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles
  • 1 roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup red and green sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out sugar cookie dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into strips about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long.
  3. Place strips on prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch between them. Sprinkle tops with granulated sugar and red and green sprinkles if using.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are just starting to turn golden. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  6. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed until incorporated, then increase to medium speed and beat for another minute until smooth and glossy.
  7. Add green food coloring one drop at a time, mixing until desired shade is reached.
  8. Crush Christmas tree cakes into small pieces. Fold cake crumbs and rainbow sprinkles into cream cheese mixture with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
  9. Transfer dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with extra cake crumbs and sprinkles if desired.
  10. Serve immediately with sugar cookie dippers, or refrigerate for 30 minutes to let flavors meld.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese and butter for best texture. Don’t overmix or dip will become thin. Dip can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Store leftover dip in refrigerator for up to 5 days. Sugar cookie dippers can be stored separately at room temperature for up to a week. Dip can be frozen for up to 3 months.
