These Mummy Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers are a fun and delicious Halloween appetizer featuring creamy, cheesy jalapeno halves wrapped in golden crescent roll dough with candy eyes. They’re quick to assemble, crowd-pleasing, and perfect for any spooky-season gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12–15 medium fresh jalapenos
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) crescent roll dough
  • 30–40 small candy eyes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Wear disposable gloves. Cut each jalapeno in half lengthwise. Use a small spoon to scrape out the white membranes and seeds. Set hollowed halves aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Fill each jalapeno half with the cream cheese mixture, level with the cut edge. Do not overstuff.
  5. Open cans of crescent roll dough and unroll sheets. Separate along perforated lines into triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips (about 1/2 inch wide).
  6. Place a stuffed jalapeno half cut-side down. Starting at the stem end, wrap a strip of dough around the pepper, leaving a small gap near the top. Add another strip slightly overlapping, continuing until mostly covered. Press ends to seal.
  7. Place two candy eyes on the exposed filling near the top of each mummy. Press gently to adhere.
  8. Arrange wrapped mummies on prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until dough is golden brown and puffed.
  9. Let poppers rest on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a serving platter.
  10. Serve warm, optionally with ranch dressing or sour cream for dipping.

Notes

Wear gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid skin irritation. Let cream cheese soften for 30 minutes before mixing. Cut dough strips evenly for best visual effect. Leave a small gap at the top of each mummy for the eyes. Bake on the middle rack for even heat. Let rest 5 minutes before serving to allow filling to set.
