Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine 9 cups Corn Chex, 2 cups mini pretzel twists, and 1 cup mixed nuts. Toss gently to distribute.
  4. Melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter in a small microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until just melted.
  5. Add the entire packet of ranch seasoning mix to the melted butter. Whisk vigorously until completely dissolved.
  6. If using, add 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper to the butter mixture. Whisk to combine.
  7. Pour the seasoned butter over the Chex mixture. Use a spatula to gently fold everything together until every piece is coated.
  8. Spread the mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and stir gently with a spatula.
  10. Return to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until lightly golden and dry to the touch.
  11. Let it cool completely on the baking sheet (at least 30 minutes).
  12. Once completely cool, break up any large clumps and transfer to a serving bowl.

Notes

For gluten-free version, use gluten-free Chex cereal and gluten-free pretzels. For dairy-free, use plant-based butter. Let cool completely before storing to maintain crunch. Flavors improve after a day.
