These spooky white chocolate witch finger pretzel rods are the perfect Halloween treat—salty, sweet, crunchy, and just the right amount of creepy. Quick and easy to make, they’re a crowd-pleaser at any Halloween party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12–14 pretzel rods (about 1 standard 12-ounce bag)
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or white chocolate chips
  • 24–28 sliced almonds (raw or blanched)
  • A few drops green gel food coloring (e.g., Americolor Leaf Green)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • Optional: edible glitter or luster dust (e.g., Wilton Gold or Iridescent)

Instructions

  1. Prep your workstation: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Lay out pretzel rods, sliced almonds, and toothpicks within easy reach.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place white chocolate melting wafers or chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Add 1 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil. Microwave in 15-second bursts, stirring vigorously after each, until about 75% melted. Remove and stir until completely smooth. If too thick, add another ½ teaspoon oil.
  3. Add the green color: Add one drop of green gel food coloring to the melted white chocolate. Stir thoroughly. Add another drop for deeper color if desired.
  4. Dip the pretzel rods: Hold a pretzel rod by one end and dip into the melted white chocolate, tilting the bowl to coat about two-thirds of the pretzel. Let excess drip off, then place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pretzels.
  5. Add the fingernails: While chocolate is still wet, press one sliced almond onto the tip of each pretzel rod, pointed end outward. Press gently to adhere.
  6. Create the knuckle lines: Use a toothpick to gently drag 2-3 horizontal lines across the chocolate-dipped part to resemble knuckles. Don’t press too hard.
  7. Set the chocolate: Place baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, or until chocolate is firm. Do not exceed 20 minutes.
  8. Optional finishing touches: If using edible glitter, lightly dust over set chocolate. For warts, melt extra white chocolate and dot small bumps on the fingers. Let set 5 more minutes.

Notes

Don’t overheat the white chocolate—it seizes easily. Use a deep, narrow bowl for dipping. Work in small batches if making more than 20 pretzels. Let pretzels come to room temperature before serving for best flavor and shine. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 2 months.
