A simple, cozy fall cocktail that combines tart apple cider, smooth silver tequila, fresh lime juice, and a warm cinnamon sugar rim. Ready in under 5 minutes, it’s perfect for gatherings or a quiet evening.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) apple cider
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) silver tequila
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Lime wedges (for rimming and garnish)
  • Apple slices (optional, for garnish)
  • Ice (enough to fill shaker and glass)

Instructions

  1. Mix 2 tablespoons granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon on a small plate until evenly combined.
  2. Run a lime wedge around the edge of a glass. Dip the wet rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture, rotating gently to coat evenly. Tap off excess. Set aside.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (preferably large cubes).
  4. Add 4 ounces apple cider, 2 ounces silver tequila, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, and 1 ounce orange liqueur to the shaker.
  5. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker feels very cold.
  6. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.
  7. Strain the margarita into the glass.
  8. Garnish with a thin apple slice and a lime wedge. Optionally, add a cinnamon stick stirrer.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila and orange liqueur with sparkling water and a splash of orange juice. For a smoky twist, use mezcal instead of silver tequila. The cinnamon sugar mixture can be stored in an airtight container for weeks. Batch the liquid ingredients (minus ice) ahead of time for parties.
