This creamy crockpot buffalo chicken dip with cream cheese is the ultimate crowd-pleaser. Made with just four simple ingredients, it’s quick, easy, and perfect for game day or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cans (12.5 oz each) cooked chicken, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot Original)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (e.g., Hidden Valley original)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: 3-4 green onions, sliced for garnish
  • Optional: celery sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Take cream cheese out of refrigerator 30 minutes before starting. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Drain and rinse canned chicken in a fine-mesh strainer. Flake with two forks into small pieces.
  3. Spray crockpot with non-stick cooking spray. Layer cubed cream cheese, then flaked chicken. Pour buffalo wing sauce and ranch dressing on top. Do not stir.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 hours or HIGH for 1 hour. Stir halfway through.
  5. Once cooking time is up, stir thoroughly until smooth and creamy. If too thick, add a tablespoon of milk or extra ranch dressing.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Add optional shredded cheddar cheese, if desired, and stir until melted.
  7. Switch crockpot to ‘Warm’ setting until ready to serve. Garnish with green onions and serve with celery sticks, tortilla chips, or other dippers.

Notes

For best texture, let cream cheese come to room temperature and cube before cooking. This dip can be made a day ahead and reheated on LOW for 45 minutes. For a milder version, use 3/4 cup wing sauce and 1/4 cup melted butter. For a blue cheese version, substitute ranch dressing with blue cheese dressing.
