A spooky yet comforting buffalo chicken dip featuring a creamy cheese base topped with an intricate spider web design made from melted mozzarella. Perfect for Halloween parties or any festive gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese dressing
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese (for the web design)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, and sharp cheddar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and blue cheese dressing to the bowl. Stir until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pie dish and spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Bake the base for 20 minutes until edges are bubbly. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. While the base bakes, microwave the extra 1/4 cup mozzarella in 15-second intervals until melted. Transfer to a zip-top bag with a corner cut off.
  7. Squeeze a dot of cheese in the center of the dip. Draw lines outward like spokes, then connect them with curved lines to create a spider web.
  8. Return the dish to the oven for 5 minutes to set the cheese web.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool for 10 minutes, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and serve with chips or vegetables.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Shred your own cheese for better melting. The dip is best served warm. Do not freeze as dairy may separate. Adjust buffalo sauce amount based on spice tolerance.
