A quick and easy 20-minute dinner featuring bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs coated in a crispy parmesan, breadcrumb, and garlic mixture, cooked to perfection in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Panko breadcrumbs
  • Garlic powder
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Olive oil (for spraying)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels and season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix grated parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and a pinch of black pepper.
  3. Beat the egg in another shallow bowl. Dip each chicken thigh into the egg, letting excess drip off, then press firmly into the cheese mixture to coat all sides.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Place chicken thighs in the basket skin-side up, ensuring they are not overlapping. Spray tops lightly with oil.
  6. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until skin is golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Remove chicken and let rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure chicken is completely dry before coating to prevent steaming. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. If using boneless, skinless thighs, reduce cooking time by 3-4 minutes. For best results, use pre-grated parmesan as anti-caking agents help the crust adhere.
