This easy cranberry orange glazed turkey breast for two is the perfect solution for a small, special meal without the fuss of a holiday feast. The sweet-tart glaze caramelizes on the turkey, creating a sticky, golden crust that keeps the meat incredibly juicy and tender.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 boneless, skin-on turkey breast (about 1.5 to 2 pounds / 680 to 900 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5 grams)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (2 grams)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (2 grams)
  • ½ cup cranberry jam or preserves (160 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice (30 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest (from about 1 orange)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (12 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (5 ml)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (1 gram)
  • Pinch of ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). While the oven is heating, take your turkey breast out of the refrigerator and let it sit on the counter for about 15 minutes. Pat the turkey breast completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the turkey breast all over with the olive oil. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the entire turkey breast, including the underside.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the cranberry jam, fresh orange juice, orange zest, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, cinnamon, and a pinch of cloves. Stir until the jam melts and the mixture is smooth and bubbly, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. Place the seasoned turkey breast on a wire rack set inside your roasting pan or baking dish. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  5. After 20 minutes, carefully remove the pan from the oven. Using a basting brush or a spoon, generously brush about half of the cranberry orange glaze all over the turkey breast. Return the pan to the oven.
  6. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Roast for another 20 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the breast reaches 160°F (71°C). If the glaze starts to look too dark, loosely tent the turkey with aluminum foil.
  7. Once the turkey reaches 160°F (71°C), remove it from the oven. Transfer to a cutting board and let it rest for 10-15 minutes. The internal temperature will continue to rise to 165°F (74°C). While it rests, warm up the remaining glaze to serve on the side.

Notes

If you can’t find cranberry jam, orange marmalade works as a substitute. For a less sweet glaze, reduce the brown sugar to 2 teaspoons. If you don’t have a wire rack, you can make one by rolling up a few pieces of aluminum foil into coils and placing them in the pan. The glaze can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
