These Kid-Approved Crescent Mummy Hot Dogs are a quick and easy Halloween dinner that kids love. Made with simple ingredients like crescent rolls and hot dogs, they’re perfect for parties or a fun weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls (recommended: Pillsbury)
  • 8 hot dogs (standard size, preferably beef)
  • Mustard (yellow, for eyes)
  • Ketchup (for dipping, optional)
  • Cheese slices (for scarf details, optional)
  • Cooking spray (for greasing baking sheet, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls. Unroll the dough and separate it along the perforated lines to get 8 triangles.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips, about 1/4 inch (6 mm) wide.
  4. Take one hot dog and wrap the dough strips around it, slightly overlapping each strip. Leave a small gap near the top (about 1 inch / 2.5 cm) for the face.
  5. Press the ends of the dough strips gently against the hot dog to secure them.
  6. Place the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffy. Check at 10 minutes.
  8. Let the mummies cool for 2-3 minutes before adding the eyes.
  9. Dip a toothpick into yellow mustard and dot two small eyes onto each mummy.
  10. Serve immediately with ketchup or extra mustard for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat crescent rolls. Don’t overwork the dough. Leave enough space for the face. Use a toothpick for precise mustard eyes. Bake on the middle rack. Let cool before adding eyes. Can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated. Reheat in oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
