Easy One-Pan Honey Garlic Salmon - featured image

A quick and healthy weeknight dinner featuring salmon fillets cooked in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce in a single pan for minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6–8 oz salmon fillets
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes until smooth.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add butter, letting it melt and foam without browning.
  4. Place salmon fillets in the pan, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for 3-4 minutes without moving them.
  5. Flip the fillets carefully and pour the prepared sauce over the fish.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for another 4-6 minutes, basting the fish with the sauce repeatedly.
  7. Check for doneness; salmon should flake easily with a fork and reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes before garnishing with sliced green onions and serving.

Notes

Ensure salmon fillets are similar in size for even cooking. Do not crowd the pan to avoid steaming. If the sauce burns, remove fish immediately and make a new batch. For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
