Adorable mummy-shaped pigs in a blanket made with crescent dough and mini hot dogs, served with a tangy mustard dip. A quick, kid-friendly recipe perfect for Halloween or any fun weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (12 oz) mini hot dogs or cocktail sausages
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Optional: Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough. If using perforated dough, gently press the seams together to form one solid rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough lengthwise into strips about 1/2 inch wide (about 12 to 14 strips).
  4. Wrap one strip of dough around each mini hot dog, starting at one end and leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  5. Brush the tops of the mummies with melted butter. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning if desired.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  7. While baking, stir together the yellow mustard and sour cream in a small bowl to make the dip.
  8. Once the mummies are out of the oven and slightly cooled (about 2 minutes), use a toothpick to dot two small mustard eyes on each one.
  9. Serve warm with the mustard dip.

Notes

Don’t wrap the dough too tightly—leave room for expansion. Add mustard eyes after baking to prevent them from disappearing. Assemble up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate if needed. Double the batch for a crowd.
