Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large frozen banana, peeled and sliced before freezing
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (natural, no added sugar)
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice (whole milk, almond milk, or oat milk)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granola
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter, warmed for drizzle
  • 1/2 banana, sliced (fresh)
  • A handful of fresh berries
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (optional)
  • A sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Ensure banana is frozen solid and sliced. Measure out yogurt, peanut butter, and milk. Have toppings ready.
  2. Add liquids first: Pour milk and yogurt into blender.
  3. Add peanut butter: Spoon in peanut butter. If cold, microwave for 10 seconds to loosen.
  4. Add frozen fruit: Drop in frozen banana slices and frozen berries. Add honey or maple syrup if using. Do not add ice.
  5. Blend: Start on low speed, gradually increase to high. Use tamper if available. Blend for 30-45 seconds until smooth and creamy, like soft-serve ice cream.
  6. Scrape and check: Stop blender, scrape down sides with rubber spatula. Blend again briefly. If too thick, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time. If too thin, add more frozen banana.
  7. Assemble bowls: Divide smoothie between two bowls. Use back of spoon to create smooth surface.
  8. Add toppings: Sprinkle granola evenly. Add fresh banana slices and berries. Drizzle with warmed peanut butter. Finish with chia seeds and cinnamon if using. Serve immediately.

Notes

Frozen banana is key for creamy texture. Serve immediately for best texture. For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or WowButter. For dairy-free, use coconut yogurt and almond milk. Let frozen banana sit at room temperature for 5 minutes if using a standard blender. Warm peanut butter for 10 seconds before drizzling for better flow.
