  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka (or flavored vodka)
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blueberry or blue raspberry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka
  • Mini plastic cups or silicone molds (2 oz / 60 ml size recommended)
  • Non-stick spray or light oil (optional, for easier release if using molds)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Dissolve red gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved (about 2 minutes). Cool to lukewarm (~110°F / 43°C), then stir in 1/2 cup cold vodka. Pour about 1 inch of red mixture into each shot cup. Refrigerate 30-45 minutes until set but tacky.
  2. Prepare the White Layer: Dissolve unflavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir for 2 minutes. Cool to lukewarm, mix in cold vodka and sweetened condensed milk. Once red layer is tacky, spoon or pour about 1 inch of white mixture on top. Refrigerate 30-45 minutes until set but tacky.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Cool slightly before adding vodka. Pour about 1 inch blue layer on top of white. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until fully set.
  4. Serving: Serve chilled straight from the fridge once fully set.

Notes

Chill each layer until tacky but not fully firm to prevent mixing. Use lukewarm gelatin mixtures (~110°F) before adding vodka to preserve alcohol content. Sweetened condensed milk is key for creamy white layer texture. Non-alcoholic and dairy-free variations are possible by substituting vodka and condensed milk.
