A cozy and easy-to-assemble fall harvest charcuterie board featuring seasonal cheeses, cured meats, fruits, nuts, and garnishes perfect for casual entertaining.

Ingredients

  • Sharp cheddar cheese, sliced (recommend Cabot)
  • Brie cheese, whole or cut into wedges (room temperature)
  • Goat cheese log, rolled in crushed walnuts or herbs
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Spicy soppressata or pepperoni
  • Smoked turkey breast
  • Fresh figs or sliced apples
  • Seedless grapes
  • Baby carrots or radishes with leaves
  • Roasted pumpkin seeds
  • Honey or fig jam
  • Marcona almonds
  • Mixed olives (Castelvetrano recommended)
  • Rustic crackers and sliced baguette (gluten-free options welcome)
  • Fresh rosemary and thyme sprigs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the board by selecting a serving board and wiping it clean. Lay down small bowls or ramekins to hold olives, nuts, and jams to keep the board tidy and prevent sticky spills. (5 minutes)
  2. Slice the sharp cheddar into thin rectangles, cut the brie into wedges, and roll the goat cheese log in crushed walnuts or herbs. Arrange the prosciutto and soppressata in loose folds or small piles for easy grabbing. (10 minutes)
  3. Wash and dry grapes and figs, slice apples thinly to avoid browning (brush lightly with lemon juice if desired). Roast pumpkin seeds if using raw ones by spreading on a baking tray, sprinkling with a pinch of salt, and roasting at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes. (15 minutes including roasting)
  4. Arrange cheeses spaced evenly on the board. Tuck in meats around them, letting the folds create texture. Fill gaps with fruit clusters, baby carrots, and roasted pumpkin seeds. Garnish with sprigs of rosemary or thyme for aroma and color. (10 minutes)
  5. Drizzle honey or place small dollops of fig jam near cheeses for sweetness contrast. Scatter Marcona almonds and crackers around the edges. Adjust arrangement for a good mix of colors and textures. (5 minutes)

Notes

Keep cheeses at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving to enhance flavor. Do not overcrowd the board to allow each item to shine. Pre-roasted pumpkin seeds can be used to save time. Brush sliced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning. Assemble the board shortly before serving for best freshness. Store leftovers in refrigerator up to two days; keep crackers separate to maintain crispness.
