These quick and festive Christmas Jello Shots with Sprinkles are the ultimate party hack. With red and green layers topped with colorful sprinkles, they look impressive but come together in under 15 minutes of active prep time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry or raspberry Jell-O
  • 1 box (3 oz) lime Jell-O
  • 2 cups boiling water, divided (1 cup per flavor)
  • 1 cup cold vodka, divided (½ cup per flavor)
  • ½ cup cold water, divided (¼ cup per flavor)
  • Christmas sprinkles (red, green, white, and star-shaped)
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (optional, for a creamy white layer)

Instructions

  1. Boil 2 cups of water total. Set out two mixing bowls.
  2. Pour 1 cup of boiling water into one bowl and add the strawberry Jell-O powder. Whisk for about 2 minutes until every grain is dissolved.
  3. Stir in ½ cup of cold vodka and ¼ cup of cold water. Stir for about 30 seconds.
  4. Arrange plastic cups on a baking sheet. Fill each cup about one-third full with the red mixture.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator. Let the red layer set for about 1-2 hours, or until firm to the touch.
  6. While the red layer is setting, repeat the process with the lime Jell-O. Dissolve it in the remaining 1 cup of boiling water, then add ½ cup cold vodka and ¼ cup cold water. Set aside at room temperature.
  7. Once the red layer is firm, carefully pour the green mixture on top, filling each cup to about two-thirds full. Pour slowly to avoid disturbing the red layer.
  8. Return the tray to the fridge for another 1-2 hours, or until the green layer is firm. If using sweetened condensed milk, mix 2 tablespoons with ¼ cup of warm water and pour on top before the green sets completely.
  9. Once all layers are firm, sprinkle the tops with Christmas sprinkles. Let them sit on top without pressing.
  10. Let the jello shots sit in the fridge for at least another 30 minutes so the sprinkles settle. They are then ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, make the jello shots the night before to allow flavors to meld. Ensure each layer is fully set before adding the next to prevent bleeding. Use cold vodka to help the gelatin set faster. For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with equal amount of cold water or ginger ale.
