A fun, budget-friendly Halloween punch with a slimy texture from tapioca pearls and a vibrant green color from lime gelatin. It’s quick to make, uses simple ingredients, and is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12-ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 (0.3-ounce) box lime-flavored gelatin
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1/2 cup small tapioca pearls, cooked and cooled
  • Gummy worms or gummy eyeballs (optional, for garnish)
  • Dry ice (optional, for fog effect)

Instructions

  1. Cook the tapioca pearls: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add 1/2 cup small tapioca pearls and stir gently. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pearls are translucent with a tiny white dot in the center. Drain in a fine-mesh strainer, rinse with cold water, and set aside to cool completely.
  2. Make the punch base: In a large pitcher, combine the thawed limeade concentrate and lime gelatin. Add 4 cups cold water and stir vigorously until the gelatin is completely dissolved (about 2 minutes). The mixture should be smooth and bright green.
  3. Chill the base: Refrigerate the pitcher for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours) to allow flavors to meld and ensure the punch stays cold.
  4. Assemble the punch: Pour the chilled limeade-gelatin mixture into a punch bowl or cauldron. Slowly add the entire bottle of chilled lemon-lime soda, pouring gently down the side to preserve carbonation. Stir very gently to combine. Add the cooled tapioca pearls and stir once more.
  5. Add spooky touches: Drop in gummy worms or gummy eyeballs for extra creepiness. If using dry ice, add it following safety instructions (use tongs or gloves, and wait 5 minutes before serving).
  6. Serve immediately: Ladle the punch into cups, ensuring each serving gets a few tapioca pearls and a gummy worm. Serve right away while the soda is fizzy and the slime effect is at its best.

Notes

Cook tapioca pearls the night before and store in cold water in the fridge for convenience. For a thicker slime texture, use 1.5 boxes of lime gelatin. Add soda just before serving to maintain carbonation. For a glow-in-the-dark effect, use tonic water instead of lemon-lime soda and serve under a blacklight.
