These Spooky Sriracha Spiderweb Deviled Eggs are the perfect Halloween appetizer—quick, easy, and incredibly impressive. A creamy, spicy filling with a dramatic spiderweb design makes them a crowd-pleasing party trick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1–2 teaspoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Optional for garnish: fresh chives or dill, black sesame seeds, or small gummy spiders

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Place your 12 eggs in a large pot and cover them with cold water by about an inch. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, cover the pot, remove it from the heat, and let it sit for exactly 12 minutes.
  2. Ice Bath: While the eggs are sitting, prepare a large bowl of ice water. After 12 minutes, use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs immediately into the ice bath. Let them chill for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Peel and Halve: Gently tap each egg on the counter to crack the shell all over, then peel under cool running water. Pat the peeled eggs dry with a paper towel. Using a sharp knife, slice each egg in half lengthwise. Carefully pop the yolks out into your mixing bowl and arrange the white halves on your serving platter.
  4. Make the Filling: To the yolks, add the 1/3 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1-2 teaspoons sriracha (to your taste), 1 teaspoon white vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mash everything together with a fork until it’s completely smooth and creamy. Give it a taste and adjust the sriracha or salt if needed.
  5. Pipe the Filling: Spoon the filling into your piping bag or zip-top bag. If using a zip-top bag, press the filling into one corner and snip off about 1/4 inch from the tip. Pipe the filling into each egg white half, mounding it slightly.
  6. Create the Spiderweb: Place the smoked paprika in your fine-mesh sieve. Hold the sieve about 6-8 inches above the eggs and gently tap the side to dust a light, even layer of paprika over the filled eggs. Now, to make the web: take a toothpick or the tip of a sharp knife and gently drag it from the center of the yolk outward to the edge of the white. Do this in a spiral motion, creating a continuous line from the center to the outside. Repeat for each egg.
  7. Garnish and Serve: If you’re using them, place a tiny gummy spider or a few black sesame seeds on each egg for a creepy-crawly effect. Arrange on your platter and serve immediately, or refrigerate until you’re ready to go.

Notes

For the best spiderweb, use a fine-mesh sieve for an even paprika dusting and a light touch with the toothpick. Older eggs are easier to peel. The filling can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
