A spooky, crowd-pleasing Halloween punch with a dramatic dry ice fog effect. This tart and sweet brew is quick to make and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups pineapple juice (unsweetened preferred)
  • 4 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 2 cups limeade concentrate (thawed)
  • 2 cups ginger ale (chilled)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 block dry ice (5–10 pounds, handle with tongs and gloves)
  • 1 cup lime sherbet (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 cup frozen gummy worms or spiders (optional, for garnish)
  • Ice cubes (for chilling)

Instructions

  1. About 30 minutes before serving, take the dry ice out of its packaging and place it in a styrofoam cooler or bowl lined with a towel. Let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to allow the outer layer to sublimate. Do not seal in an airtight container.
  2. In a large punch bowl, combine 4 cups pineapple juice, 4 cups cranberry juice cocktail, 2 cups thawed limeade concentrate, 2 cups chilled ginger ale, and 1 cup orange juice. Stir gently until well combined.
  3. Place the punch bowl in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours to chill the base thoroughly.
  4. Right before serving, put on gloves or use tongs to break the dry ice into small chunks (about golf ball size). Drop 2-3 chunks into the punch bowl. Do not touch dry ice with bare hands.
  5. If using, add small scoops of lime sherbet on top of the punch and toss in frozen gummy worms or spiders for garnish.
  6. Serve using a plastic ladle, ensuring no pieces of dry ice end up in cups. Add more dry ice chunks every 30-45 minutes to maintain the fog effect.

Notes

Always handle dry ice with gloves or tongs; never consume it. Keep the punch base cold for best fog effect. For an adult version, add 1-2 cups of vodka or rum. For lower sugar, use unsweetened cranberry juice and diet ginger ale.
