A fun, no-cook Halloween snack board featuring a spider web design made from grapes, pretzels, and string cheese, with adorable peanut butter and raisin spiders. Perfect for parties and school events, this interactive board lets kids build their own creepy-crawly snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup black or purple seedless grapes
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 4–5 string cheese sticks
  • 20 round crackers (like Ritz or Club)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (or sunflower seed butter/Wowbutter for nut-free)
  • 1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup pretzel sticks, broken in half
  • 12 small candy eyes
  • 1 small can pitted black olives
  • Optional: cheese cubes (cheddar or colby jack)
  • Optional: baby carrots or cucumber slices
  • Optional: Halloween-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Web Base: Place a large round platter (14-16 inches) in your workspace. Arrange black grapes in a single layer around the outer edge. Lay pretzel sticks like spokes of a wheel from the center outward, leaving a 2-inch gap in the center. Use 8-10 spokes.
  2. Create the Web Threads: Cut string cheese sticks lengthwise into thin strips (about 1/4 inch wide). Starting at the center, lay a cheese strip in a spiral pattern, weaving over and under the pretzel spokes. Continue until you reach the grape border, using additional strips as needed.
  3. Make the Spider Bodies: Spread a generous dollop of peanut butter on a round cracker. Place one raisin or dried cranberry on the peanut butter for the body. Press 4 broken pretzel half-sticks into the peanut butter on each side of the raisin to create 8 legs. Add two candy eyes to the front of the raisin. Repeat to make 6-8 spiders.
  4. Assemble the Board: Place completed spiders onto the web, spacing them evenly. For adult-friendly olive spiders, stuff a pitted black olive with a small piece of cheese or peanut butter and press two candy eyes onto the filling. Place these around the board as well.
  5. Final Touches: Arrange optional add-ins like cheese cubes or baby carrots in small piles around the outer edge on top of the grapes. Fill any bare spots with extra grapes or pretzels. Serve immediately.

Notes

Build the board no more than 30 minutes before serving for best texture. For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or Wowbutter. For dairy-free, use dairy-free cheese sticks or bell pepper strips. Peanut butter will soften if left out too long; prepare components separately if making ahead. Use kitchen shears for cutting string cheese into thin strips. Let cheese sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cutting to prevent cracking.
