A quick and fun Halloween snack board featuring pretzel sticks transformed into witch fingers with almond fingernails, served with a green ranch dip and warm queso. Perfect for parties and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (12 oz) pretzel sticks
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • Red food coloring (a few drops)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • Green food coloring (a few drops)
  • 1 cup queso or cheese dip
  • 1/2 cup candy eyeballs
  • 1 can black olives, drained
  • 1 cup carrot sticks
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the witch fingers: In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese with 2-3 drops red food coloring until pale pinkish-red. Spread a tiny amount on the tip of each pretzel stick. Press one sliced almond onto the cream cheese to create a ‘fingernail.’ Repeat for all pretzel sticks.
  2. Prepare the green witch goo dip: In a small mixing bowl, combine 1 cup sour cream with the entire packet of ranch seasoning. Stir until smooth. Add 3-4 drops green food coloring and stir until swampy green. Transfer to a small serving bowl.
  3. Warm the queso: Microwave store-bought queso in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds, stir, then heat for another 15 seconds if needed. Pour into a second small serving bowl.
  4. Prep the vegetables: Slice red bell pepper into thin strips about 3 inches long. Cut carrot sticks into similar lengths. Drain black olives.
  5. Arrange the board: Place the two dip bowls on opposite ends of a large serving board. Arrange witch finger pretzels in a cluster pointing outward. Group carrot sticks and bell pepper strips together. Scatter black olives and candy eyeballs in small clusters.
  6. Add final touches: Tuck fresh herb sprigs around the edges. Nestle extra candy eyeballs into the dips. Check the board from all angles and add more pretzels or vegetables where needed.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours. Remove 15 minutes before serving to let dips come to room temperature.

Notes

For dairy-free version, use vegan cream cheese and dairy-free sour cream. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzel sticks. The green ranch dip tastes better after sitting in the fridge for an hour. Double the pretzel portion for a crowd.
